IMPORTANT: These unique maps originally belonged to Smith, Gotthardt & Co. of Bradford, Land Agents & Surveyors. The majority have fascinating hand-written additions referring to works and surveys carried out by the company approx. 1893 to 1920's. Despite their often poor condition, we have decided to offer them as downloadable PDF images of the original scans. They are also available as printed map (see below).

The blue area marks land around "Hillthorpe". In the west of the map, the land bordered in pink is a continuation from sheet 217.5.1893 showing land belonging to Tyersall Hall, and detailing crops and types of boundaries, together with the railway under construction (also in pink). All pubs & hotels are circled in red ink. The red grid (top right) is marked, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15.
